An 11-year-old boy cycling on a path close to Gayton Road in King's Lynn this morning was pulled from his bike by a man described as being in his 50s.
The man went to grab the boy when he was lying on the ground but the victim managed to run away.
The incident happened at around 8.45am.
The man is described as in his 50s, of average build with straight, greying, receding hair.
He was wearing a white Adidas running top with red lycra-style running shorts and had earphones on.
Officers from King's Lynn North Safer Neighbourhood Team (SNT) are appealing for witnesses.
PC Ian Halsall, Kings Lynn North SNT, would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident or has information regarding it.
