A Lowestoft man has been arrested following reports of a person seen carrying a gun in the town.
At 10.45 last night police received reports of that a man 'carrying what appeared to be a firearm' in the Weston Road area.
A spokesman for Suffolk Constabulary said: 'Police were immediately dispatched and located a man at an address nearby.
'A 45-year-old man from Lowestoft was arrested in connection with the incident and taken to Great Yarmouth Police Investigation centre for questioning.
'He remains in custody at this time.'
Police officers conducted a search at the property but no firearm was located.
