Metal-wielding man in balaclava robs woman in Norwich

A man in a black balaclava threatened a woman with a piece of metal before stealing cash from her purse in Norwich.

The woman was approached on Catton Grove Road after midnight by the robber, who threatened her with the metal and demanded money.

He then grabbed her by the shoulder and walked her to a cash point on Woodgrove Parade, but no money was withdrawn.

The man then stole cash from the woman’s purse before walking off towards Woodcock Road.

The victim is in her 20s.

The incident took place on Sunday, May 27, at around 12.30am.

The man is described as white, with blue eyes, wearing a black balaclava with a blue hooded top and blue jeans.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the robbery to come forward.
