A man who was found with 37 wraps of crack cocaine and heroin when he was searched by police, in Norwich, has been given a two year suspended jail term so he can get help he needs.
Gerald Cole, 32, was found to have the drugs when officers searched him on Dereham Road after he aroused suspicions.
Cole claimed he had the drugs as he was hoping to clear a debt of his former partner.
Cole, of Perkins Way, Ipswich admitted possession of cocaine and heroin with intent to supply.
After hearing that Cole had been drugs free since Christmas Judge Stephen Holt imposed a two year jail sentence suspended for two years and ordered him to attend a drugs treatment programme so he could remain clear of drugs.
'You are not likely to do this sort of thing again.'
Roger Thomson, for Cole, said: 'This is low level street dealing to pay off someone else's debt.'
He said that Cole wanted to remain free of drugs and in the past had managed to keep off drugs for a number of years.
