Driver arrested over drug driving on A47 at Norwich

A driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving on the A47.

The driver was stopped on the carriageway at Norwich last night after officers saw it “swerving across” the road.

Sgt Chris Harris, of Norfolk and Suffolk Roads Policing, came across the motorist while driving back to the station.

He tweeted: “Negative breathtest but driver provides a positive @DrugWipeUK & is arrested on suspicion of #DrugDriving.”

Earlier on Mr Harris had praised the work of his team during a “busy, busy evening”.

“While some jobs we cannot tweet the details of but the teamwork, tenacity & professionalism of my team makes me very proud to work alongside them,” he tweeted.

On Sunday night on the A11, two drivers were stopped for doing 100mph.

One of the drivers blew a positive breath test and provided a positive road side drugs test. He was releases pending drug blood results.
