A man has been detained over an incident which sparked the evacuation of hundreds of college staff and students.
The College of West Anglia closed its Tennyson Avenue campus in King’s Lynn this morning and students were set to its sports campus at the nearby Lynnsport until “police advise the incident has been resolved.”
Police reopened the main site just before 11am. A spokesman said: “Police were called to the College of West Anglia shortly before 7.50am this morning following concerns for the safety of a man barricaded in the building.
“Emergency services attended the scene and the college was evacuated for precautionary reasons. The man has since been detained.”
Teaching has returned to normal on the campus this afternoon.
