A businessman has admitted operating an illegal waste site at a garage in West Norfolk.
Kevin Scott, 54, of High Street, Hilgay, near Downham Market, pleaded guilty to one count of operating an illegal waste site at Fairfield Garage in Bridge Street, Hilgay, between January 7 and August 30, last year.
Rebecca Vanstone, prosecuting on behalf of the Environment Agency at Norwich Crown Court, said there would have to be a further hearing to decide the final basis of his plea,
Jason Stevens appeared for Scott, who said his plea was offered on a basis that the illegal operation was between January and August.
He said the site was now operated by a different company run by his wife which was now compliant.
He said: 'There has been a visit and it is now compliant.'
Judge Shaw adjourned the case until January 25 next year for a trial of issue to decide the basis of plea before sentence.
