A nine-year-old boy had his Christmas present stolen by a burglar who broke into his dad's home, near Norwich.
Neil Thomson and his two children were asleep in bed when the criminal targeted their house on Cozens-Hardy Road in Sprowston.
It is believed the burglar gained access to the property through an open conservatory window at some point between 10.30pm on Sunday and early Monday morning (February 5).
Once inside, the burglar stole a laptop, wallet and three games consoles - including a Nintendo Switch, which Mr Thomson's son Joshua had received for Christmas.
Mr Thomson, 36, who works as a software analyst, said he only realised what had happened when he came downstairs on Monday morning.
'I was just shocked,' he said. 'But my main concern was that the kids were in the house at the time.
'During the night my three-year-old boy woke up and walked down the hallway, he was stood at the top of my stairs and I called him to get into my bed.
'He said he couldn't sleep, so whether he heard something I don't know.'
As well as the Nintendo, the burglar stole an Xbox 360 console, an Xbox One and a black Acer laptop.
Mr Thomson said the burglar also took a school bag belonging to one of his sons, but made sure to take out the pencil case.
He added: 'It's annoying to me because it could have been prevented. They opened a window which I left ajar.
'It's me not locking up properly, but at the same time you don't expect someone to come in and take everything.'
Meanwhile, CCTV footage has emerged showing a masked man attempting to break into a van parked at a nearby property on Foxburrow Road, recorded at 4am on Monday.
The camera's owner, who does not want to be named, said it was the second time CCTV had caught someone near their home.
'The first time was at about ten to six in the morning and he was just stood in the garden with his arms held open, we couldn't tell whether he was acting threatening or if he was just startled,' the person said.
'My four-year-old son has been petrified since.'
A Norfolk Police spokesman said the incidents were not being linked to each other.
