Seven men are in custody after police were called to a service station on the A11 in Thetford this morning in response to concerns about suspicious activity.
Officers were called to the Abbeyheath services at about 9.30am following reports a number of people, who it is believed had been hiding underneath a lorry, had run into nearby woodland.
A search was carried out in the area with assistance from the police helicopter and seven men were detained and are being held in police custody at King's Lynn.
Police are working with Home Office officials as part of their enquiries.
Police initially received reports about 20 people had run into woodland.
