A man has appeared in court in connection with a serious assault in Thetford.
The incident happened at around 10.15pm on Friday (29 September), when a man suffered a stab wound following an assault on Croxton Road.
Stuart Elliott, 49, of Harriet Martineau Close, Thetford, has been charged with an offence of causing grievous bodily harm which is said to have been racially aggravated.
The defendant, who wore a dark blue jumper, spoke only to confirm his details during the short hearing.
The case was formally sent to Norwich Crown Court on October 30.
The victim is recovering in hospital from his injury, which is not life-threatening.
