Firefighters have put out two stubble fires at Colkirk this afternoon.

The alarm was raised at around 12:45pm, after fire broke out in a freshly-harvested field off Hall Lane.

Three crews from Fakenham, Massingham, Dereham and the water carrier from Dereham were sent to the blaze.

They took around an hour to put out the fire, which had spread to around eight acres of stubble, using hose reel jets and hand appliances.

Two hours later, crews were again sent out after fire broke out in a neighbouring field. A spokesman said the cause of the fires was currently unknown.
