Town hall leaders swapped the office for the outdoors when they tried out some new equipment at a trio of Bradwell play areas.
Great Yarmouth Borough Council has spent nearly £26,000 improving the playgrounds in Cornfields, El Alamein Way and Whimbrel Drive.
And this week council leader Trevor Wainwright and cabinet member Bernard Williamson discovered their inner child as they had a go on the new equipment, which includes roundabouts, springy toys and dinosaur-themed multi-play units.
The work was funded with developer contributions from the Blue Sky Caravan Park development, which were ring fenced for improving open spaces and play areas in Bradwell.
Mr Williamson, cabinet member for transformation and regeneration, who leads the council's play strategy, said: 'I am delighted that work is complete on these play areas, which reflects our desire to upgrade play facilities across the borough, wherever possible.
'Last year, the borough council used £191,000 of the developer contributions to build a new state-of-the-art concrete skate park and improve existing play facilities at Mill Lane Recreation Ground.
'These latest upgrades invest just under £25,800 from this same funding pot to benefit families with smaller children in other parts of Bradwell.'
The equipment was put in following a consultation with parents, who were asked what kind of equipment they would like to see installed at each site.
