A casting company is hunting for people to put their survival skills to the test in the latest series of a Channel 4 television programme.

Shine TV has issued a casting call for the latest series of The Island with Bear Grylls and is looking for people from Norfolk to apply.

The series, which is hosted by wilderness guru Mr Grylls, places contestants on a remote island and puts their survival skills well and truly to the test.

Contestants must be older than 18 years old and must be physically healthy and able to participate, but can be from any background or profession.

Mr Grylls said: 'This is Lord of the Flies meets Bear Grylls meets Darwin's survival of the fittest. We take food, shelter and warmth for granted, I want to find out what happens when you strip people of all the comforts of modern life.'
