A coroner held a hearing into the death of a young Great Yarmouth boxer who died from a single punch.

Jakub Moczyk, 22, known to his friends as Kuba, was knocked unconscious during the final round of a boxing match at Great Yarmouth's Tower Rooms on November 19, last year.

He was taken to the James Paget University Hospital, Gorleston, and placed on a life support machine but was pronounced clinically dead on November 21.

Senior Norfolk coroner Jacqueline Lake held a short pre-inquest review into Mr Moczyk's case at Norwich Coroner's Court, in Thorpe Road, Norwich.

A full inquest, before a jury is due to take place on October 10, at Great Yarmouth Magistrates Court and is expected to last four days.

The parents of Mr Moczyk and his twin sister Magdalena Moczyk attended the short hearing, in which coroner Mrs Lake heard that investigations were continuing in the case.
