Roger Briscoe, 71, of Lee Warner Avenue, died on Saturday, November 28. Police say there were no suspicious circumstances.
Enquiries have revealed he may have had a daughter, called Natalie, who lives in Lyon in France.
Officers would like to trace anyone who may have known Mr Briscoe. Anyone with information should call the coroner's office on 01603 276493.
