He's racked up number one albums and singles, but the man behind chart-toppers The Streets was in a Norwich diner this week helping out an up-and-coming rapper from the city.

Mike Skinner, whose hits with The Streets include Fit But You Know It, Dry Your Eyes and When You Wasn't Famous, was filming a video to accompany a remix of a single by a former University of East Anglia student turned MC.

Context, alias George Musgrave, has been making big waves with his music, having won MTV's Brand New for 2012 list.

Context, who initially juggled his music career with studying for a PhD in politics and economics at the UEA, has now moved to London and has been garnering plenty of attention.

Mercury Music Prize-nominated Skinner was among those to notice his talents and agreed to remix the ex-Wymondham College student's track Small Town Lad Sentiments.

The pair were in Norwich on Thursday to shoot the video to go with the tune and filmed part of the video in KO's Sports Diner in Hall Road.

That delighted the diner's owner, heavyweight boxer Sam Sexton - a massive fan of The Streets.

Mr Sexton said: 'We had a producer come in to the diner who said he was looking for locations to shoot part of a music video and would we be happy for the diner to be used?

'I didn't know it would be Mike Skinner at that point, but said it would be fine.

'I only found out it was him when I walked in the door after coming back from training and there he was in the diner. I'd always thought The Streets were awesome, so I couldn't believe it.'

Skinner and Context were in the diner, which has a boxing theme for about two hours towards the end of the day.

Mr Sexton said: 'They were just sat there chilling, with the boxing photographs and posters in the background. It was really good to have them in there.'

And Mr Sexton could not resist getting his photograph taken with Skinner, who has left The Streets behind to form a new music project called The D.O.T.

This week's city visit is not the first time Skinner has been to Norwich to shoot promotional material to accompany his music.

The cover of The Streets' 2011 album Computers and Blues featured Skinner gazing from an illuminated room in one of the distinctive Grade II-listed ziggurats at the University of East Anglia.
