A cat which was rescued by firefighters last night after it had been stuck down a nine metre well for four days.

Crews from Watton, Dereham and Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service's Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) team, were called to Richmond Road, Saham Toney, near Watton, just after 6pm.

The well was in a garden and it took one hour to rescue the cat.

A Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said the animal was fine and its owner was 'ecstatic' after the cat was rescued.
