Four fire crews have been tackling a blaze at a caravan site just off the A47 in Swaffham.

Appliances from Swaffham, Dereham, Massingham and King's Lynn South attended The Splashes traveller site on Castle Acre Road from about 11.40am today.

A spokesman for the Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service said three caravans were damaged in the blaze, which started accidentally.

'A dog was rescued from one of the caravans, but none of the inhabitants were injured,' a spokesman said.

A Norfolk police spokesman said they were called at 11.40am today to reports that two caravans were on fire. 'It is not suspicious and the fires were out by 12.30pm,' they said.
