Six people escaped serious injury after a two-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon, which saw a Land Rover Freelander flip on to its roof.

Emergency crews were called just before 2pm after the Freelander, which was attempting to cross Cromwell Road from the south side of Weasenham Lane, in Wisbech, was involved in a collision with a red Mazda 323 car.

The impact of the crash saw the Land Rover overturn and eventually come to rest around 90ft down the north side of Weasenham Lane.

Two men and two children crawled out of the overturned vehicle and were taken to hospital as a precaution, but it is believed they only suffered minor injuries.

The two women travelling in the Mazda were uninjured, but left shaken by the crash.

One lane of Cromwell Road was partially blocked by the crash, but police and recovery vehicles worked quickly to move the vehicles and clear the debris.
