A woman in her 20s was taken to hospital after the car she was driving left the road and ended up in a ditch.

It happened in Thiefgate Lane, Saddlebow, near King's Lynn, at about 9.45pm yesterday.

A spokesman for the East of England ambulance service said the woman, who was suffering from leg, neck and head pains, but was conscious and breathing, was taken to the Queen Elizabeth hospital for further treatment. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Fire crews from Downham Market, King's Lynn South and North attended the single-vehicle accident with the rescue boat from Lynn. Crews had to cut the woman free from the vehicle.

Magpas air ambulance also attended.

A spokesman said: 'The Magpas team assessed a woman in her 20s who had suffered injuries to her leg and arm. 'The patient was subsequently taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn, in a stable condition, by an East of England ambulance service paramedic crew.'
