Bunwell staged its inaugural pumpkin party on October 21 when around 20 families converged on the village hall for food, fun and friendly competition.
The party was organised for the local community by villagers Dave and Julie Wilson, who had invited families to grow and decorate pumpkins and then bring them to the hall for a contest and a feast of homemade refreshments.
Tom and Debbie Masters judged an impressive array of pumpkins and awarded prizes to Emma Frith for the biggest pumpkin, Zoe and Peter Seaward for the smallest pumpkin, Elisha and Joshua Carter for the prettiest pumpkin and Sarah Goddard for the most unusual pumpkin.
After the success of the party, thoughts amongst Bunwell's pumpkin growers will already be turning towards next year's contest.
