While most people spent their bank holiday Monday relaxing in the sunshine, Norfolk's least lazy residents put on their running shoes instead.
More than 280 participants ran 10K on Monday morning from Croxton Village Hall for the Breckland 10K Road Race 2018, organised by Thetford Athletic Club. In first place was Adrian Mussett of Colchester Harriers who completed the course in just 33 minutes.
The event was sponsored by The Light Cinema who supplied goody bags. There was also a children's fun run consisting of three laps of the village hall playing field with a few fun obstacles on the way.
Race spokesman Charlotte Smith said: 'The sudden rise in temperature led to very challenging conditions for the runners. I believe it was a record breaking temperature for the Breckland 10k.
'All the Thetford Athletic Club members who volunteered were at the ready with extra water supplies.'
