Police have today confirmed that the body of a man found in a field in Brandon three months ago is that of missing Polish man Roman Czaja.
The 39-year-old went missing on Thursday July 19, just a day after arriving in the country to work on a building site in Lakenheath, prompting Suffolk Police to launch a poster and Polish internet campaign and daily searches of the area.
Officers were subsequently called to a field off Chalk Lane, Brandon, on Tuesday July 31 after farm workers discovered a body. A post mortem examination was unable to establish the cause of death, but did establish that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.
Greater Suffolk coroner Peter Dean has now confirmed using medical records that the body is that of Mr Czaja and his family in Poland has been informed. An inquest into his death will be opened in due course.
