Boys raise their voices with classical and barbershop songs at school near Southwold
A singing workshop for boys featured music ranging from medieval to barber shop.
The Voices workshop, which took place at St Felix School in Halesworth Road, Reydon, near Southwold, was a chance for young male singers to raise their voices.
The day was hosted by North Suffolk Youth Choir and led by experienced tutors including choir director Vetta Wise and Alan Zipfel, music director at St Mark's Church, in Oulton Broad, Lowestoft.
Choir secretary Shirley Smith said: 'It was a very worthwhile day. We had a dozen enthusiastic youngsters with ages that ranged from 11 to 16, who worked with zest and good humour.
'They learnt a variety of songs, ranging from medieval to African, barber shop to classical, and performed three of them to their delighted parents and friends at the end of the day.'
The teenagers were also given advice on vocal health. One of them commented: 'It was fun and it was just boys so you didn't have to worry about being the only boy.'
Another said: 'I enjoyed meeting a very funny and passionate group of singers.'

The choir arranged the workshop to give youngsters an experience and encourage them to continue singing.
