A boy has been rushed to hospital after electrocuting himself on a railway line outside Norwich.

Emergency services are currently at the scene of an incident in Thorpe St Andrew where the youth suffered the injuries. They were alerted by a member of the public at 12.35pm, who reported two children on the line - one of whom had suffered injuries.

The youths were located by officers in an area close to the track known as The Denes. Officers from Norfolk police, British Transport Police and ambulance staff, including the East Anglian Air Ambulance, are still at the spot.

The injured boy has been taken to hospital for treatment. Motorists and those using the rail network are advised that traffic and railway services in this area will experience some disruption during the course of the emergency operation.
