It promises to be a magical night of carols and festive music – held inside one of the city's oldest churches.

And with less than a week to go until the Norwich Evening News Carols for Christmas service, readers are urged to secure their seats while they still can.

This year the service takes place inside the glorious setting of St Peter Mancroft Church, on Tuesday.

The building will be filled with candles and decorations to transform it into a festive wonderland for the evening.

Guests will be treated to performances from the church choir, who will be supported by an assortment of talented musicians.

And visitors will have the chance to enjoy a free mince pie on the night.

Tickets cost £5, with all proceeds set to be donated to the Mancroft Advice Project, which supports young people in Norwich and Great Yarmouth.

The charity is a made up of both youth workers and counsellors who work together to provide advice to people in both areas.

The church will open its doors at 6pm and the service begins at 7pm.

Seating on the night is allocated on a first-come, first-served basis to ticket holders.

Tickets, which must be bought in advance, can be obtained at the Norwich Evening News office at Prospect House, in Rouen Road, Norwich.

They can also be bought online at www.eveningnews24.co.uk or by calling 01603 628311.

Last night, people were treated to a festive-filled evening of Christmas carols and music at the EDP's Festival of Carols.

The annual event, which supports the EDP We Care Appeal, was held at St Andrew's Hall.
