Emergency services were called out at 3.50pm this afternoon to reports that a small aircraft had crashed near Pottergate Street, near Long Stratton.
A large bonfire sparked the false alarm which saw Norfolk Fire and Rescue Service send appliances from Long Stratton, Carrow and the water carrier from Hethersett to the incident.
Two ambulance crews, two ambulance officers, and the East Anglian Air Ambulance also attended.
