Everybody Needs Somebody, according to the Blues Brothers song - and right now, Jake would like his Elwood back.
The 6ft cardboard statuette of Dan Aykroyd, who performed as Elwood in the Saturday Night Live programme and in the hit films, was taken from the foyer of Norwich Playhouse last
week during a charity tribute gig.
Dave Land, trumpet player with the Chicago Blues Brothers, explained the statuette, made from thick cardboard, was one of a pair of props which tours with the band.
"They are lifelike statuettes which cost about £150 each but after the interval on Wednesday night someone walked off with Elwood, leaving Jake behind. We would really like him back. We can only buy them by pairs - as they are the Blues Brothers," he said.
"Most of the band travel from London but this is my home turf as I live in Norwich and I was telling them it is the sort of place you can leave your car unlocked.
"Whoever has it can just take it back to the Playhouse."
The band has been touring for eight years with the show and is currently raising money for East Anglia's Children's Hospices (Each) and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
