A father-and-son duo from Norfolk missed out on £250,000 and the chance to perform in front of the Queen in the Britain's Got Talent final tonight.

Tim and Jack Goodacre, who are from Eccles near Attleborough, battled it out against 10 other acts in the ITV show's final.

Before their performance Jack, 12, said: 'In the semi-finals I did feel like a rock star for a little bit. When I'm older I want to be a rock star.'

Tim, 44, said: 'To be in the final with my son, it's a once in a lifetime thing.'

Jack added: 'Tonight will probably be the biggest night of my life.'

Their original song The Lucky Ones went down well with the judges.

Previously Jack said the song was 'about how lucky we are to have what we have.'

Simon Cowell told the pair: 'That brought back so many amazing memories. I think you are both brilliant and this is going to be tough tonight but I think you have really given yourself a shot after that performance and I think you made the right decision.'

David Walliams added: 'We are all lucky enough to be parents and it is a beautiful thing to see, the fantastic relationship between you two.'

Alesha Dixon said: 'I'm just so happy you two are experiencing this together. That song would not be out of place in Nashville.'

After the performance Tim said: 'We came here with a song and a dream, and no expectations.'

Jack added: 'It's kind of hard to put into words how awesome it is. All the judges comments are awesome but the crowd is just the best.'

The pair are a familiar sight in Norwich where they often perform on the streets, Jack has previously been hailed as the city's youngest busker.

Jack already has a number of musical achievements under his belt, despite his young age, while his dad works as a singer/songwriter and music producer.

As well as taking part in Britain's Got Talent, Jack has also appeared on The Voice Kids where he was coached by McFly star Danny Jones and more recently been performing as Zack Mooneyham in Andrew Lloyd Webber's West End adaptation of School of Rock.

Disabled comedian Lost Voice Guy, real name Lee Ridley, won the 2018 edition of the show.

The 37-year-old comic from Newcastle has cerebral palsy which has left him unable to speak, but has not stopped him pursuing a career in comedy.
