BBC East boss Tim Bishop will leave the broadcaster to take over at The Forum.

Mr Bishop, head of region for BBC East and a former editor of the Evening News, will take up his role as chief executive of the Forum Trust which runs the Forum in June.

The current CEO, Robin Hall, announced his retirement at the end of last year after leading the Forum Trust since 1997.

Mr Bishop said: 'I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with the team which runs the Forum.

It's a fantastic building and a credit to Norwich, Norfolk, and the region.

'I am really sad to be leaving the BBC. I've had so much fun working alongside some hugely talented and

hard‐working people.

'The new role won't take me too far away and the Forum Trust can only achieve its aims in partnership with others.

'The BBC, which aims to be the most creative organisation in the world, will remain a key part of that.'

Stuart Holmes, chairman of the Forum Trust, added: 'Tim has been a friend and partner of the Forum since the building opened ten years ago. He will bring new qualities to The Forum which will build upon the superb foundations laid by Robin.'
