Four pupils from Attleborough Junior School were chosen to help restore a milestone in the town as part of a Jubilee project.
The Milestone Society is currently renovating 60 milestones throughout Norfolk as part of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebrations. And junior school students helped Nigel Ford, of the society, to paint the milestone sited at Keeling Way in Attleborough.
Town mayor Karen Pettitt and members of the Attleborough Heritage Group, Doreen Coman and Marie Young also lent a hand.
The milestone at Keeling Way was put into place in 1780 and its overall size is 81 inches.
Chris Read, headteacher at Attleborough Junior School, said that the Year 5 pupils were proud to be chosen and were looking forward to pointing the milestone out to friends and family.
