The former Yarmouth High School student said she entered some photos into the Nuts magazine Bedroom Babes competition, then thought nothing more of it.

'It was quite a while back,' recalled Amber, who is a self-employed hairdresser at Plush Hair, King Street. 'I forgot about it, then they said 'you've been nominated' and I was like 'oh my god'.'

Entrants had been whittled down to four girls, with visitors to the magazine's website voting for the overall winner.

And to her surprise and delight she was crowned victorious.

'It was great and I was excited,' she said.

Her prize is a photoshoot in London tomorrow, with the resulting pictures to be printed in a future edition of Nuts.

She said her mum Debra, 49, who works in a clothes shop, and dad Malcolm, 50, an offshore worker, are pleased for her.

And they have supported her since she took an interest in modelling earlier this year.

'My parents love it,' she explained. 'When I go to London they come with me.

'I was doing modelling before.

'My mum and dad said 'do it, you'll be good at it'.

'So I did a photoshoot and got really into it.'

She said she became better known on social media websites like Facebook, and has since completed four photoshoots in London and featured in Zoo magazine.

'When I first got Twitter I only had 200 followers, now I've got 4,000,' she added. 'You get some horrible people, but everyone close to me knows what I'm like and have been so supportive.

'I wasn't very confident to start with, but it makes you confident.

'If it wasn't for my friends I wouldn't have done it.'

Amber, who has two elder brothers Jamie and Jordan, said she is keen to pursue a career as a glamour model but is taking things day by day.

'I've just been seeing how it's going,' she revealed. 'The hair, the make-up - I love it, and the photos as well.

'I think it's inspiring, Kelly Brook and people like her.'

She has thanked photographer Patricia Szubska who helped with her first photoshoot and encouraged her from the start.
