Arsonists torched two unused mobile classrooms in a Fenland village in the early hours of today.

Firefighters were called to Roman Bank, Leverington, at 12.45am following reports that the buildings were engulfed in flames.

Two crews from Wisbech were quickly on the scene and immediately called for support from the crew based at Outwell.

Firefighters had the blaze under control by 3.15am - and an investigation revealed the cause to be deliberate.

A police spokesman said the buildings were not in use - until recently they have been used as a boxing gym.

Police want to trace a man who was seen in the area at the time of the fire. He was described as white, 6ft tall, 'wearing a flap cap, light brown corduroy trousers and a green farmer's jacket'. He was riding a Dutch style bike.

Anyone with any information should contact police on 101.
