Police made four drug related arrests and seized a substantial amount of sound equipment at an illegal rave in Thetford Forest early this morning.

They were tipped off just before 7am, but it is thought that it had been going on all night and there were around 200 people involved.

Following the arrests, Superintendent Paul Sanford said: 'Events such as these will not be tolerated in the county. 'We will continue to take positive action whenever possible when future unlicensed music events take place.'

A police spokesman said: 'Police would like to take this opportunity to re-appeal to landowners and the general public to remain vigilant and to immediately report any incursions onto property by people who may be intent on holding a rave.'

Police intervened as individuals left the event resulting in three arrests for possession of drugs with intent to supply and one arrest for possession of drugs.

Two vans containing sound equipment were seized and several other drivers are likely to be prosecuted for driving offences.
