A ten-year-old boy was taken to hospital after being bitten by a Rottweiler dog in Carlton Colville.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident involving the loose dog on a playing field close to the Dale End and Gondree area.

It happened about 8.45pm on Sunday, July 24, where the boy was bitten by the dog on his upper arm.

The ambulance service attended and the boy was taken to the James Paget University Hospital for treatment for a puncture wound.

Police believe they have traced the owner of the dog and have interviewed a man in relation to the incident.
