Police are appealing for information after a man and woman are believed to have attempted to steal an elderly woman's purse from her car in Belton.
The elderly woman got out of her car in Heather Gardens at around 12.15pm this afternoon, when she was approached by a man and a woman.
The pair distracted the victim by using a map to ask for directions before the man reached into her car in what is believed to be an attempt to steal her purse.
The victim shouted at the man and called to a member of the public for assistance.
The man and woman then left the scene in a silver coloured car.
Anyone with information should contact PC Adam Rowland at Gorleston Police Station on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
