Anglian Water are working to repair a burst main on The Drift in Fakenham.
The water supply has been rerouted and they are using tankers to ensure local residents still have water while repairs are made.
They expect the pipe will be fixed later this evening (Friday) but the road will remain closed until early next week while repairs are made to the road surface.
A spokesperson for Anglian Waters said: 'We're sorry for any inconvenience this causes and would like to thank local residents and road users for their patience while the repair work is completed.
'Once the repair is finished, customers may notice the water looks a little cloudy, or even white when they first turn on their taps. This is nothing to worry about; it's just millions of tiny air bubbles which causes the water to look cloudy. If you run the tap for a few minutes, or if you leave it to stand in a glass, it should clear.'
