Untangle your tinsel and buff up your baubles to get ready for Great Yarmouth's programme of festive entertainment.

As part of the line up - organised by Great Yarmouth Town Centre Partnership - SeaChange Arts will be staging a very alternative Christmas in the town.

The organisation behind the popular Out There Festival brings three evenings of seasonal silliness on Wednesday evenings through December in the town's Market Place.

On Wednesday, December 9 a pair of badly-behaved elves hijack Santa's Grotto and turn it into their very own 'grotty'. These delinquent elves are likely to cause all manner of mischief and mayhem while Santa's away. They'll be dishing out the Christmas gifts, but don't get too excited – it might not be the gift you always wanted.

Bringing a dose of Christmas past, Mr Scrooge will be knocking 'the Dickens' out of Christmas. The famous festive grouch will be humbugging his way around town, doing his best to spoil all the Christmas fun.

Merry musical accompaniment will be provided by Easy Broads FM. Investigative reporter and DJ, Frank Witney brings his Christmas Roadshow to town. Armed with only a microphone and his trusty sound engineer, he'll be bringing his very special media message to the town's Christmas shoppers.

Performances take place from 6 to 8pm and are free. Further street performances will take place on Wednesday, December 16 and Wednesday, December 23.
