The heavy traffic is now easing after a stretch of the A47 in Wisbech was closed after a car hit a horse earlier this morning.
Police were called to the scene at 7.10am, with the incident happening between Elm Hall and the Tesco roundabout, Wisbech.
The road is now reopen in both directions between the junction of Cromwell Road on the B198 and the A1101 Elm High Road junction.
No people are reported injured, however a vet was called to the scene to tend to the horse.
