A motorist was taken to hospital on Saturday following a collision between a car and a lorry on the A140.

Traffic on the main Norwich-Ipswich road was disrupted for about two hours as a result of the crash between the Vauxhall Cavalier car and HGV.

Emergency services were called at 10.40am following the accident on the junction of the B1527, which resulted in the car ending up in a ditch.

Three fire crews from Long Stratton and Norwich spent 40 minutes releasing the trapped driver, who was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital.

She was conscious and breathing during her rescue and is said to be in a non life-threatening condition.
