One person has been killed and another taken to hospital following a crash on the A11.
Emergency services attended the scene around 4.55am after two cars hit a deer near Wymondham.
The driver of one of the cars was then involved in a collision with an HGV and died at the scene.
A second person, a woman, was taken to the Norfolk and Norwich Hospital to be treated for injuries.
The road was closed between the B1135 Wymondham junction and the A47 Thickthorn roundabout.
The northbound carriageway re-opened about three hours later but the south bound carriageway was shut for most of the morning and the road was only clear at lunchtime.
A diversion was in place and police warned drivers the closure was causing delays of up to an hour for motorists approaching Thickthorn from the Newmarket Road.
Drivers heading towards Wymondham faced delays of 40 minutes before the Browick Road junction.
There were also long tail backs on the A47 with traffic queuing at the Thickthorn roundabout.
The road closure also affected several buses, with the First 13, X13, 13c and the Konectbus 6, X6, 8, 9 and park and ride 501 being re-routed.
Konectbus tweeted: 'Delays at Thickthorn due to a serious RTC on the A11 are causing heavy disruption to konectexpress 8. We are releasing a relief bus from our depot as we speak to keep things moving.'
