The life-saving work of the emergency services was on proud display in Oulton Broad, near Lowestoft, on Sunday. A 999 day was held at Nicholas Everitt Park with a police car, ambulance and fire engine on show displaying all their equipment.

There was also a chance for people to meet coastguards, volunteer search and rescue teams, RNLI lifeboat men and members of Sky Watch Civil Air Patrol and the 4x4 Response Network. The Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service demonstrated how dangerous chip pan fires can be and members of Seething Airfield Fire and Rescue showed how they respond to road traffic accidents.

Sunday's event was organised by RNLI South Broads team which is based at Caldecott Road, Oulton Broad.
