A cordon remains in place five days after the body of a GP was found at her home near the Sandringham estate.
The body of Hannah Cain, 45, was found at her home in Fern Hill, Dersingham in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Her husband, Mark Cain, also 45, was arrested at the scene and taken in for questioning before being charged with murder.
A spokeswoman for Norfolk Constabulary confirmed that a cordon is still in place around the home on Thursday morning as investigations continue.
Cain appeared at Norwich Magistrates' Court on Wednesday morning, speaking only to confirm his name, age and address.
Prosecutor Jacqueline Hanlon said: "They contacted police at 2.45am after being confronted by a 45-year-old man who said he had received stab wounds in a suspected robbery.
"Hannah Cain was discovered in an upstairs bedroom unconscious and not breathing.
"A postmortem found she had received a blunt force injury to the right side of her head.
"There were also injuries suggestive of a compression to the neck.
"Children were in the property at the time."
He will appear at a preliminary hearing at King's Lynn Crown Court this morning.
