Britain's most easterly hill race made a welcome return as hundreds of runners embarked on one of the most unique road races in the country.
The popular Lowestoft Scores Race returned in style on Sunday, August 30.
Organised by the Waveney Valley Athletic Club, the event challenges runners on a demanding 4.75-mile course that covers 13 historic, steep pathways and takes in 401 steps across Lowestoft's High Street.
A record number of competitors took part in the 27th Lowestoft Scores Race, as 410 runners crossed the finish line.
First to finish was Alfie Bone of Waveney Valley in 26:51 with Josh Smith, also Waveney Valley, second in 27:11.
James McAllen, also from the host club, finished third in 27:38. The trio won the team prize.
First female to finish was Keziah Hopkins ( U/A) in 33:06, with Stacey Baker (U/A) second in 34:57 and Eleanor Chapman ( Bure Valley Harriers) third in 35:10.
Lowestoft Road Runners won the female team prize.
The winners of the Junior race, over a distance of 1.4 miles, were: M13-15 Tom Barber (GY&DAC) 8:15, M16 Noah Harbord (WVAC) 8:17, M9-12 Felix Thorn (WVAC) 9:02, F9-12 Scarlett Stammers (NRR) 9:46, F13-15 Georgina Robinson (FF) 12:11.
