Thousands of runners are set to take on a 10k challenge through the heart of Norwich.
Run Norwich will return on Sunday (September 6), with around 8,500 participants expected to take part in the closed-road race.
Here is everything you need to know about Run Norwich 2026.
Where is it?
Race Village is based at Chapelfield Gardens with the run starting from Theatre Street, near Norwich Theatre Royal, and finishing on St Peter’s Street.
The route takes runners past some of the city’s most famous landmarks, including Norwich Castle, Norwich Cathedral, Carrow Road, Riverside, Tombland and City Hall.
The event is organised by the Norwich City Community Sports Foundation and is designed as a showcase of the city centre.
There will also be music around the course at The Waterfront and St Saviour's Yard.
What time does it start?
Key timings for race day include the opening of the race village and baggage trailers at 8am, with start pens opening at 8.40am.
The main race begins at 9.40am.
At 10am the baggage trailers will reopen and at 11.10am the presentations and podium ceremony will begin in the race village.
For the junior race, the pen opens at 8.30am and the run starts at 9.15am.
Which roads are closed?
Major road in the city centre will be closed from 7am including Red Lion Street, Theatre Street, Exchange Street and part of St Stephen’s Road until 1pm
Further closures from 8.45am to 10.45am will include Carrow Road, the route around Norwich City Football Club, Wherry Road and Riverside Road south of the railway station.
Prince of Wales Road, Rose Lane and part of King Street between the city centre and Dragon Hall will be closed from 9am to 11am, along with connecting roads around Tombland and The Castle.
Bishopgate will face restrictions from 9.30am to 11.15am, while Tombland will be closed from 9.15am to 11.30am.
A section of King Street will have parking restrictions from 6.30pm on September 5 until midday on September 6.
How do you get there?
Organisers recommend using sustainable travel options due to widespread road closures.
An enhanced Park and Ride service will be available from Harford Park and Ride from 7am for runners.
A number of bus services will also be diverted and passengers are advised to check service changes before travelling.
