Over-45s singles looking for love are being invited to ditch dating apps and meet face-to-face at a new free event.
Next Chapter Connections, launched by Estelle Mann, aims to help people in Lowestoft meet face-to-face in a relaxed, friendly setting.
The third event in the series will be held at Piranha Joe’s Beach Bar on Claremont Pier in Lowestoft on Friday, September 25.
The first two evenings were aimed at over-50s, but following strong demand, the age range has been widened to include those aged 45 and above.
"You don’t get the same vibe when you’re looking at somebody on a dating site," she said.
"You don’t get that first glance, seeing that first smile, hearing someone laugh or feeling that chemistry when you meet them face-to-face."
Ms Mann said the events focus on more than just romance, they are about making friends, enjoying a night out, and discovering connections that might not happen online.
To keep things relaxed, attendees wear coloured hearts to show who they’d like to talk to - blue for men, red for women, or both.
Guests are welcome to bring a non-single friend for support.
"Sometimes after a relationship ends, or after being single for a while, it can be quite daunting to put yourself back out there," Ms Mann said.
"I wanted to create somewhere where people could come along, have a drink, a chat and a laugh, without feeling that they have to find ‘the one’ that night."
The event is free, with tickets available via Eventbrite, though walk-ins are also welcome.
Future events are planned for Friday, October 30, and Friday, December 11.
