Furious politicians are rallying against First Bus after it announced a "lifeline" service would be axed at the end of this month.
Alice Macdonald and Antony Little are calling for First Bus to reverse its plans to scrap the 13 and 13X service next week after speaking to dozens of concerned locals.
The provider is also cutting back the frequency of number 21 from three times an hour to two, which provides direct links to the city and the hospital.
Passengers travelling from Old Catton into Norwich fear their journeys will be a "nightmare" with people trying to cram onto the remaining buses.
Ms Macdonald, MP for Norwich North, contacted the firm to speak to the regional director of First Bus after hearing about the "disappointing" decision.
She said: "These services are vital lifelines for many people across our community.
"This is a very disappointing decision.
"It illustrates exactly why the government is acting to give communities greater control over local transport, including £46 million of investment to support and protect crucial bus services across Norfolk."
The service links Spixworth, Old Catton, Norwich city centre, Wymondham and Attleborough, running every 30 minutes on weekdays.
Service 20, which connects Old Catton with the city and the NNUH, will extend beyond Catton Grove Road to Spixworth via North Walsham Road, replacing the 13 and X13.
Concerns about the changes were also raised at Sprowston Town Council's meeting on August 19.
Antony Little, Conservative county councillor for Old Catton, is calling for First Bus to U-turn on its decision.
He said: "I welcome Sprowston Town Council's support.
"We want the buses locally to work well, and this feels like a backwards step."
First Bus has confirmed updates will be made to its website and journey planning app so that information about the new services and routes is clear and up to date.
