Three new padel courts will replace an existing Multi Use Games Area (MUGA) at Lowestoft Sixth Form College.
A storage container/cabin for equipment and shelter will also be introduced along with new 3m high fencing around the courts at the MUGA associated with the college on Rotterdam Road, Lowestoft.
Plans were lodged with East Suffolk Council in March by agents CRD Building Consultancy for the applicants Everyone Padel Limited.
The scheme for the site positioned between Lowestoft Sixth Form College and Waterlane Leisure Centre was permitted under delegated powers last week.
With no objections received, documents said the existing MUGA would be redeveloped to provide three padel courts - comprising two double courts and one single court.
It adds: "The proposal would replace an existing sporting facility with an enhanced and modern recreational facility that would broaden the range of sports available locally, increase opportunities for physical activity and support community participation in sport."
Padel is described as "a fast-growing, social racquet sport" that combines tennis and squash as its played on enclosed glass/mesh courts.
