A couple are seeking permission to build an outdoor swimming pool and tennis court at a Grade-II listed property.

Mr and Mrs Wheeler launched a planning bid for the Mount on Hunworth Road in Edgefield near Fakenham.

The plans also look to regularise an area of land classified as agricultural, but used for residential purposes for more than 20 years.

The pool would be rectangular and 110.6 metres squared, with the tennis court next to the facility.

A changing room building and outdoor entertaining area consisting of a kitchen, toilets and indoor/outdoor seating areas were also proposed as part of the development .

A planning statement with the application said the development "would not result in adverse amenity impacts for residents of the existing dwelling, nor nearby dwellings".

The statement added it would be "solely for purposes incidental to the enjoyment of the main dwelling".

North Norfolk District Council will make a decision on the plans at a later date.
