A Norfolk teenager has gone straight from sitting GCSEs to being a national finalist in the world of hairdressing.
Marley Jarvis, from Gorleston, is among the finalists in the 'Future Talent' category at the 2026 Salon Awards.
The 16-year-old, who recently finished his studies at Lynn Grove School, has already begun building a future in barbering and is based at the Hair Base in Gorleston.
Mr Jarvis said: "It's been an amazing few weeks.
"I went from revising for my GCSEs and celebrating my prom to becoming a national finalist.
"I'm really grateful to everyone who's supported me, and I can't wait to keep learning and building my career in barbering."
The Salon Awards recognise technical excellence and creativity in hair and beauty across the UK.
Mr Jarvis' nomination comes just weeks after finishing his exams and attending his school prom.
Throughout his early career, Mr Jarvis has trained with leading industry professionals including Keith Owen and Sam Rascal and continues to grow his skills at the Hair Base.
The awards ceremony will take place this November at London’s JW Marriott Grosvenor House.
The teen's mother Emma Jarvis, who owns the Hair Base and founded THB Academy, said: "Watching Marley discover his passion has been one of the proudest moments of my life.
"He has worked incredibly hard, giving up evenings and weekends to learn, practise and improve."
